Had an absolute *blast* at the Kool & The Gang concert on Valentine's Day at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The vocals, the horns, and the funk were absolutely unbelievable. I can't believe it's taken me this long to see them. They've been around for almost 50 years! The bassist Robert "Kool" Bell - who was there with the band in 1964 when it all began - was unbelievable. Michael Ray, who's been with the band since 1979, was killing it on trumpet. And while the new vocalist Walt Anderson was wonderful, my favorite part was Jermaine Bryson on trombone. Wow. Check him out: Jermaine Bryson on trombone
